Senior Vice President | New York- Leasing
Current Responsibilities
Michael Higgins is a senior vice president in the Midtown office of Jones Lang LaSalle’s New York operation. He is an integral member of a top producing leasing team centered on Strategic Occupancy Solutions for tenants in the New York Tri-State area and across the greater United States.
Experience
Michael represents select landlords locally and tenants on a local and national level. His tenant representation business is centered on the real estate needs of the technology, retail, new media, fashion, financial services and insurance industries. He joined Jones Lang LaSalle in 2011 after working at CB Richard Ellis for over six years and Insignia for two years.
One of his many notable transactions includes the sale of three historic firehouses on behalf of the New York Board of Fire Underwriters. Despite market conditions during the summer of 2009, Michael and his partners arranged for the sale of three firehouses within three months, which provided the nonprofit with sufficient cash to avoid receivership. These transactions were later nominated for the Real Estate Board of New York’s Investment Sales Deal of the Year.
Education and Affiliations
Mr. Higgins earned a MBA with concentrations in real estate and finance from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business in 2012 and a BSM from Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business in 2001. He is also LEED Green Associate accredited through the U.S. Green Building Council. He grew up in Westchester County and enjoys spending his free time with his wife, two daughters and son, outdoors and at home in Chappaqua, New York.
